Interactions
Concomitant use of amiloride with ACE inhibitors may increase the risk of hyperkalemia. Thiazide diuretics co-administered with alcohol, barbiturates, or narcotics can potentiate orthostatic hypotension. Hydrochlorothiazide can reduce the effect of antidiabetic drugs. Co -administration of thiazide with other antihypertensive drugs provides an additive effect or potentiation. Cholestyramine and colestipol resins reduce the absorption of hydrochlorothiazide.
